About Taishoken San Francisco
Founded in 1951 in Tokyo, Taishoken is a shop specializing in Tsukemen(Dupping noodles) and Ramen.
Located at 665 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA 94110, Taishoken San Francisco operates as a ramen serving San Francisco in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In San Francisco, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 5β9:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Taishoken San Francisco at (415) 400-5336; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is taishokenusa.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 505 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded ramen in San Francisco.
San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Traffic in San Francisco peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Their calamari and spicy miso ramen were amazing. I like how savory the miso ramen is and the crispy pepper topping on the calamari is so good. Must try.

Iβve been going to Taishoken in San Mateo for a while and usually get the tsukemen, so I was honestly surprised that I somehow didnβt know they had a location in the Mission I was in San Francisco for an event and stopped by the Valencia Street location. It still felt like Taishoken, but the menu was a little different from what Iβm used to, so this time we changed things up and ordered the mazesoba and tonkotsu ramen instead of my usual tsukemen The mazesoba was rich, savory and really satisfying once everything was mixed together. The noodles had a great chew and there was plenty of flavor without it feeling too heavy. The tonkotsu ramen was comforting too, with a creamy broth and a more classic ramen feel. It was fun trying a different side of a brand I already like The service was also genuinely great. Everyone was warm, attentive and easy to talk to, and the whole experience felt very welcoming even though the restaurant was busy Really glad I finally found this location. Iβll still go back to San Mateo for the tsukemen, but now I know the SF spot is worth visiting when Iβm in the city and in the mood for something different

Came here after seeing a video about it on Instagram. I think it has the best tsukemen Iβve had outside of Japan! The gravy/soup part is actually served super hot and is tasty. The normal tonkotsu ramen is also decorous. I liked the cucumber appetizer with some kind of chili garlic onion topping - refreshing and a nice starter to a heavy carb meal that follows.

Loved this ramen spot. Walked out of the way to try, and place was packed (in a good way...let's you know it's good). Staff was friendly and turning tables quickly. Had the Strawberry Yuzu drink with Tonkatsu Pork Broth Ramen. Nice portion served hot and fast. Saved to favorite; will be back soon!

Taishoken has great appetizers and ramen with a rich hearty broth. The calamari and karage were very crispy. This is one of the better karage I have had. The calamari came on a bed of chilli oil that was also yum. The ramen pork broth is like marufuku. I got the spicy miso ramen. The chasu could have been a little more tender. The ramen unusually was topped with red onion. The noodles are very al dente. I like this but it might not appeal to everyone. The side of chilli oil was good. The service was efficient. The atmosphere was cozy and the bonzai in the glass tubes were a nice touch.
